Photographing the Photographer

“…..the biggest advantage to shooting film is that it takes longer. Digital is so fast. Sometimes it just takes time to look at somebody. You don’t stop observing.”

I just came across this video of Fred R. Conrad from the New York Times, shooting a portrait session with Joel Meyerowitz. It is very short, but sweet. I love what he says about the process of working with film… great photographs are given, not taken……and can very much relate to being more comfortable on the other side of the lens. Brilliant.
