Virginia Film Fest
This has been a long and kinda rough week for me- so a road trip and girls night out was JUST what the doctor ordered!!! My dear friend, Bridget, that I’ve known FOREVER flew into town from L.A. because a film she was in premiered at the Virginia Film Festival in Charlottesville. The movie is called House Hunting……SO PROUD OF YOU, BRIDGET!!!!! The film was really outstanding!!! Admittedly, the horror genre is not one I tend to watch that much….but this was a lot more than your typical slasher/scary movie. Of course it had all of those elements, but it was SO well-thought out and had MUCH more substance than many horror films. The acting was top notch! I also love how it was filmed locally. After the showing, there was a brief Q&A with the cast and crew, which I found to be really interesting- hearing some behind-the-scenes stories and how the actors/actresses prepared for such challenging roles. Very cool.
And in addition to the movie, I had a TOTAL BLAST with B., Sarah and Roz. We went to a cocktail reception before the movie, as well as a rockin’ after-party that was held in a converted ice rink. I’m so fortunate to have a small circle of good friends that I’ve known for so long…..the kind of friends that have known and supported you your whole life, you can talk to about anything and everything, you know the kind……:)
